Cone 1 inside view
I have been working to find new ways to transform them from two dimensional sheets of paper to large three dimensional structures that sit on tables, rest on floors and hang from ceilings.
Tic Tac Woe
I view my Rorschach paintings rather magically. My paintings are very intuitive and they surprise me.
Yellow Corner
The paintings are metaphors for going inside, behind and underneath the surface. They are about the transparent as well as the hidden. Thus, some of the work is purposely hidden from view, e.g., covered over by other images, sheets of paper and in some instances fabric like lace.
Opening up
My phase two inkblot paintings begin in chaos and bewilderment yet they are revelatory in nature.
Phase 2 Images
My phase two images were produced during the fall and spring of 2009/2010. They were heavily influenced by my experience at MICA in the Post-Bacc program. During that time I explored a number of “formal” problems with the bysymmetry of Rorschach imagery. This work led to variety of solutions to bysymmetry including the move from two dimensional work to three dimensional shapes that are ambiguous in nature.
